US 236th Medical Detachment DUSTOFF Vietnam War Patch
The 236th Medical Detachment was deployed to Vietnam from Ft. Polk, Louisiana in the fall of 1968. The 236th was based at Da Nang in I Corps. It provided support not only for Army units mainly 23rd Infantry and Special Forces, but also for Marines, ARVN, and South Korean military units. Helicopters used were the UH-1Hs. They were deactivated in March, 1972.
